  • 1.Personal Information Protection Statement

    Japan U-Pica Company Ltd. (below, “the Company”) is committed to the appropriate protection of information concerning individual persons (below, “personal information”). As such, the Company has established the following policy concerning the handling of personal information as part of our efforts to provide safe, secure, and trustworthy services.

    For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, “personal information” is any information that can be used to identify persons, as it includes persons’ names, birth dates, email addresses or other relevant text, images, audio, or numbers, symbols, or other codes assigned to specific individuals.

  • 2.Personal Information Protection Policy
    • (1) The Company will comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other relevant laws.
    • (2) The Company will comply with the Guidelines on Protection of Personal Information in the Telecommunication Business (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication Notice 695, August 31, 2004).
    • (3) The Company will appropriately control all personal information that it handles.
    • (4) All persons engaged in work at the Company will protect all types of personal information and earn the trust of society.
    • (5) The company will endeavor to take and improve necessary and appropriate safety control measures to prevent unauthorized access to information and loss, destruction, tampering, leakage, and so on of information.
    • (6) The Company will not collect or use personal information relating to race, ethnicity, ancestry, parentage, domicile of origin, religion, political views, or membership in trade unions.
  • 3.How personal information is handled
    • (1) Identification of purposes for use
      The Company collects certain personal information (names, addresses, telephone numbers, etc.) through its web site, which may be used for the purposes of selling Company products, providing services, responding to inquiries, communicating about products and services, conducting various surveys, conducting hiring activities, or other purposes essential to Company business.
      The Company will not use this information for other purposes without authorization. If the Company intends to acquire or use personal information for purposes other than the above, it will separately, clearly, and specifically state those purposes in advance.
    • (2) Disclosure of personal information
      If a customer who provided personal information to the Company requests that the Company disclose the information it has concerning that person, the Company will comply after confirming the identity of the person. The Company will also respond promptly to any requests from persons for the correction, etc. of their personal information.
    • (3) Usage of personal information and provision to others
      The Company acquires personal information to the extent necessary to provide services; the Company uses personal information and provides it to others within the scope of the purpose for acquiring it.
    • (4) Providing personal information to third parties
      The Company will not disclose or provide personal information to any third party unless that information is to be used within the scope of the purpose for acquiring it and is to be controlled by appropriate methods, and unless the subject of the information has been informed of the identity of the party to whom the Company is providing the information and the Company’s purpose for doing so, and has consented. However, this limitation does not apply in the following cases. The Company discloses personal information to third parties in the cases below.
      • •When the Company is subject to compulsory execution as based on the Code of Criminal Procedure, Article 218 (Attachment, Search, or Verification under Warrant) or other provisions of the same code.
      • •When the conditions for demand of disclosure have been fulfilled as based on the Act on the Limitation of Liability for Damages of Specified Telecommunications Service Providers and the Right to Demand Disclosure of Identification Information of the Senders, Article 4 (Demand for Disclosure of Identification Information of the Sender, Etc.).
      • •When the Company deems disclosure necessary to protect life, health, or property.
    • (5) Scope of application of personal information protection

      The Company’s web site may contain links to other businesses, and the Company cannot accept any responsibility for personal information on web sites other than its own.

  • 4.Revisions to the Privacy Policy
    • (1) This Privacy Policy is subject to change without notice.
    • (2) Privacy Policy revisions take effect as soon as they are posted on the Company’s web site, unless separately indicated by the Company.
  • 5.Inquiries on personal information

    Please use the provided inquiry form for any inquiries relating to how we handle personal information in our possession.
    Individuals will please use the same contact point for requests concerning their own information, such as requests to disclose, correct, or cease using their information. The Company will respond as promptly as practically possible.
